We are excited to have switched over to a new website platform. It is not complete as of yet, but we wanted to open registration so please know we are working on the layout and information on this site.
Back to Lax Camp being held Monday through Thursday, August 5th through the 8th at Willow Springs Middle School (1101 W Lucas Rd, Lucas, TX 75002) for boys and girls entering Kindergarten through 8th grade.
This camp will be run by our boys and girls varsity coaches, Andrew Hodgson, Chris Selva, Peyton Myles, and Rainey Hodgson. This camp is for Lovejoy players and any other youth players from the area.
There will be two sessions to choose from based on experience:
(1) 8:00 am - 10:00 am for players who have 0 to 2 seasons of experience playing lacrosse OR do not have their own lacrosse equipment. We will have sticks available for use, and players will not need full equipment for this session.
(2) 10:00 am - 12:00 pm for players who have 3 or more seasons of experience playing lacrosse AND have their own lacrosse equipment. You will need full equipment for this session.
Cost is $130.
The Lovejoy Lacrosse boys' varsity team wrapped up another successful lacrosse season. They ended the regular season ranked 2nd in the State of Texas for D2 Varsity teams. The team finished the regular season with a 10-4 overall record (7-1 district record), which included a 7 game win streak. The team made the Texas High School Lacrosse League State Playoffs for the second straight year. In the playoffs, the team beat Plano East (18-6) in the first round. They then traveled to Houston for the Super Regionals, where they beat St. Michaels (25-5) in the Round of 16. The team ended up losing a heartbreaker in the final seconds against Klein (10-11) in the Elite 8.
The Lovejoy Lady Leopards high school lacrosse team wrapped up a successful first season. The team entered its inaugural season as a Junior Varsity team with the Texas Girls High School Lacrosse League. Under first year coach, Rainey Hodgson, the team finished the season with a 5-3 record, which included wins over varsity level teams. Next year, the Lady Leopards will move up and compete at the Division II Varsity level of the TGHSLL. With every player expected to return next year, the Lady Leopards lacrosse team are looking forward to another successful year.
The mission of the Lovejoy Leopards Lacrosse Program is to introduce, promote, and teach the great game of lacrosse to the youth of the Lovejoy community – 1st grade through High School – in a fun, safe, and sportsmanlike environment. As a young program, we are committed to developing the skills of every child in our program to help them develop into a well-rounded and educated lacrosse player. Our program is dedicated to instilling the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, fair play, a love of the sport of lacrosse, and respect for everyone involved – including teammates, coaches, opponents, and officials. Every child, regardless of initial skill level, will have the opportunity to learn the game and develop individual and teamwork skills.
