Please see locations listed above.  From time-to-time, there may be a conflict with the field at Willow Springs as LISD events have priority.  If there is a conflict, you will be notified via the Sports Engine app that practice is being cancelled or moved to a different location.   IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE SPORTS ENGINE APP, PLEASE DOWNLOAD IT NOW.

Where are the games played?  What tournaments will we play this fall?

Lovejoy home games are played at Willow Springs Middle School. Away games can be played at several places in the Dallas / North Texas area.

On what days do the teams play games in the Spring?

Youth games in the Spring are on Saturdays and Sundays.  Other than the tournament schedule, Sunday games do not start before noon.  We may have a weeknight game occasionally.

Bantam & Youth Team Uniforms & Jersey Number Assignments

For the fall, BANTAM & YOUTH players are required to purchase a Lovejoy practice pinnie, but they are not required to purchase a Lovejoy Lacrosse uniform.  In the spring, all BANTAM & YOUTH players will be required to get a uniform if they don’t have one already.  Lovejoy Lacrosse uniforms and practice pinnies are purchased through Team LAX in Frisco. The price for the uniform is ~$80, which includes a reversible black and white jersey and shorts. The practice pinnie is ~$30 and is also reversible.

When ordering your uniform and practice pinnie – DO NOT INCLUDE a jersey number. LEAVE THAT BOX BLANK. The club will assign the jersey numbers. Every effort will be made to give new players one of their three preferred jersey numbers. However, we need to make sure there are no conflicts with any of the returning players on the same team or a grade below or below the new player. We will let you know your son's jersey number within the next week.

We recommend that you try on the sample jerseys, so you can make sure to get the correct size. Team LAX is located at: 9201 Warren Parkway, Frisco, Texas 75035; (469) 362-8529.

Lovejoy has adopted a red and black custom Cascade helmet as the official LJ Youth Lax helmet.   You can purchase the helmet directly from Team Lax as they plan to stock a few of these helmets in their store.  The helmet is completely optional and is NOT mandatory to play for Lovejoy.  However, when you purchase a new helmet for your son in the future, we would strongly recommend that you consider purchasing the official LJ helmet as it not only looks great, it is a top of the line helmet, and you can get it for a great price.

High School Uniforms

The players now purchase their own uniforms.  This gives us more flexibility with numbers as well as we simply ran out of uniforms last year.  We had used those uniforms for 4 years so it was time for a change.  More info to come from your VP!

My son – and I – are new to lacrosse, what can we expect?

Expect to have fun and expect to become hooked on lacrosse. There’s a reason why lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the United States (and in North Texas). It’s a fun, exciting, and fast paced sport and every player on the field is involved and active throughout the game. It’s been said many times, once someone picks up a lacrosse stick and plays the game, they are hooked! Parents love it because the action is non-stop and exciting to watch.

TEAM COMMUNICATION

SportsEngine, which  is the same app through which registration occurs,  is our main method of communication.  This app allows everyone to see the team roster, team calendar and has a chat feature for quick updates/photo sharing.

Please be sure to download the SportsEngine app to your mobile device.

Availability:  Please be sure to RSVP in SportsEngine with your player’s availability for each practice and more importantly, for each game/tournament.  The Coaches need this information when planning rosters.

Guardians:  If both parents (guardians) of an athlete would like to receive team communications, you need to make sure BOTH parents (guardians) are listed as a “Guardian” within the SportsEngine app.

Please note, high school athletes can also be set up as a "Guardian" if approved by the Parent who is the account owner.  Setting an athlete up as a "Guardian" gives the athlete the ability to see their team schedule, comment on a team chat and RSVP for team events.

To set up someone as a “Guardian,” please do the following:
1.    Download the SportsEngine app to your mobile device.

2.     Log in to the SportsEngine app using the same ID & password as when you registered.

3.    Tap Account

4.    Tap on the "Player Profile" you wish to manage (beneath Household Information).

5.    In the lower right corner, tap the pencil icon

6.    Tap Add Guardian

7.    Enter the Email Address of the “Guardian” you wish to add.  (If you have multiple player profiles that have this person as a Guardian, tap the toggle switch to make them a Guardian of these profiles as well.)

8.    In the upper right-hand corner, tap Save (iOS Device) or Checkmark (Android Device).

NOTE:  The invited individual will appear in the “Guardians” tab as PENDING until they accept the invitation.  You will receive an email when the guardian has accepted the invite.

BOYS Equipment

Custom Helmets Available Through TeamLax

Lovejoy is adopting a red and black custom Cascade helmet as the official LJ Youth Lax helmet.  As you can see, the helmet is matte black with red trim, and has a white face mask.  It also comes with custom decals including a cut-out Texas Lovejoy logo.  Team Lax is stocking this custom helmet with the custom decals.  Team Lax can also order one for you if they run out in the store.

We know lacrosse is an expensive sport and many players may not yet need a new helmet.  The helmet is completely optional for youth players and is NOT mandatory to play for Lovejoy.  However, when you purchase a new helmet for your son in the future, we would strongly recommend that you consider purchasing the official LJ helmet as it not only looks great, it is a top of the line helmet, and you can get it for a great price.
